Nebraska’s Big Rodeo

Video Filming & Production

An annual event dating back to 1921, Nebraska’s Big Rodeo attracts thousands of rodeo fans to Burwell, Nebraska, each summer. It is the largest outdoor rodeo in the state of Nebraska and is nearing a century of competition.

This community event served as the ideal focus for a unique branded content piece that was entertaining and informative, while still serving as a promotional tool. M2 produced the documentary short film The Ride – Nebraska’s Big Rodeo, which captured the stories of the hard-working volunteers, board members, and attendees that help operate this event each year. The Ride combined interviews, action video clips, natural sound, and audio from the rodeo event announcer.

The film premiered locally at the Northside Bar & Grill in Burwell, which serves as the official museum and history vault for all things Nebraska’s Big Rodeo. The film caused laughs, smiles, applause, and maybe even a few tears from the community members that came to view the first showing of this film. The Ride was also shown on the arena video board during all four performances of the 2019 rodeo.

Video clips from this film were licensed and used for a national TV ad for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, which aired on ESPN networks during the summer of 2019.
